Open to all levels of practice and abilities, the class focuses on an exploration of a variety of yoga poses or asanas and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. You will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility and strength, connected by breath, which can have a transformative and balancing effect. Breath, meditation and relaxation techniques will also be introduced - all perfect for stress relief and overall well being.
An incredible system to heal the body, Restoratives help to kick in relaxation response, balancing the nervous system and optimizing energy flow to the organs. They lift immune function and enhance the process of digestion. Basically these postures set the whole body up for deep healing, growth and repair. Beyond these incredible physiological health benefits, restoratives create the opportunity to see where you hold habitual tension. This unique practice uses props (bolsters, blankets, blocks, etc.) to support your body in various poses.
What to expect: Each class will begin with a seated breath practice, we will then move into warm-ups for the body that are seated, standing (yoga postures as well as other movements). Followed by 25minutes of restorative yoga.
Wednesday Evening Mini-Retreats in 2020
An intimate 2 hour wellness class! Participants can expect a long breath practice, a 50 minute yoga class designed for intermediate level, mantra/chanting for 15min followed by Restorative yoga with nurturing massage for 30minutes, and then a tea circle to close.
Pre-registration is required and is limited to 7 participants. Mini-retreats are held in my home at: 4890 Sea Ridge Drive.
